“In the social jungle of human existence, there is no feeling of being alive without a sense of identity.”
Words of Erik Erikson
Your relationship with yourself sets the tone for how you interact with the world around you. Actively pursuing greater depths of knowing and loving and know yourself can enhance everything you do. A strong identity is upheld by the capacity to realize your personal calling and live it out. Not taking the time to assess your authentic self intentionally can affect your relationships and your career. I believe that memories are the architecture of our identity, so I had a conversation with Soheila Hakimi about my past. In this podcast episode, we talk about my experience growing up as an immigrant and the adversities that sprouted from my identity. We touch on the Third Culture Kid theory, embracing Blackness, and my journey of healing and self-discovery. Our discussion also outlines how my story has found its way into my design career.
